Our Mission

To provide a forum for survivors of crimes of personal violence to advocate for the change necessary to assist/benefit their lives and circumstances.  We do this by empowering them with connections to local support/mental health/legal advice and our advocacy.

Our Objectives

  1. Encourage and assist development of consistent, high quality, equitable and accessible support services for the survivors of crimes of personal violence.

  2. Promote fair recognition of the rights and interests for the survivors of crimes of personal violence.

  3. Promote legislative and other reforms throughout the justice system that reflect the rights and interests of the survivors of crimes of personal violence.

  4. Promote initiatives by individuals, communities and other agencies to improve responses for the survivors of crimes of personal violence.

  5. Support the survivors of crimes of personal violence within the community and/or as they progress through the criminal justice system.

Our Work

  1. Advocate for any change reasonably necessary to support the lives and circumstances of the survivors of crimes of personal violence.

  2. Make representations on behalf of the survivors of crimes of personal violence to government regarding legislation and government policy and services.

  3. Make representations on behalf of the survivors of crimes of personal violence to any group, service or agency that can enhance the lives and circumstances of those survivors – survivors.

  4. Promote good support practice aimed at decreasing/reducing the trauma suffered by the survivors of crimes of personal violence immediately following the crime and involvement with the criminal justice system.

  5. Educating communities on the availability of local assistance agencies.

Note: this group, whilst empowering survivors, is not a counselling service and can only provide relevant directions to appropriate services.
